Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not through Prov directly. Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Prov, then tap Cancel Subscription. You will keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Prov. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your Prov purchase, and request a refund. Apple decides based on their policy. We do not have access to your billing information.

How do I export my wins?

Open Prov → Settings → Export data. You will get a JSON file containing every win, weekly update, and brief stored on your device. The file is yours to keep, share, or migrate. There is no cloud copy of your data — what is on your device is the source of truth.

I deleted Prov by accident. Can I restore my wins?

Unfortunately no. Prov stores your data locally on your device, not in the cloud. When you delete the app, iOS removes the local database. We have no copy. This is a deliberate privacy choice — but it means you should use Settings → Export data regularly if your wins matter to you. We are looking at optional iCloud sync for a future version.

The AI features stopped working / say "Permission required"

Prov asks for your explicit permission before sending any of your content to Google Gemini for AI enrichment. If you previously declined or revoked permission, you can re-grant it any time in Prov → Settings → Privacy → Send wins to Google Gemini.

What does Prov send to Google?

When you use an AI feature (enrich a win, generate a weekly update, generate a brief), Prov sends the relevant text — your raw win, optional follow-up answers, optional brief context, summaries of your past wins — to Google's Gemini API. Nothing else. Your name, email, device ID, location, contacts, and anything else from your phone are never sent. The full disclosure is in our Privacy Policy.

I am in the EU / UK. Is Prov GDPR compliant?

Yes. Prov uses Google Gemini's paid tier, which carries an automatic Data Processing Addendum that meets GDPR requirements. Your content is not used to train Google's models. Because we store nothing on a central server, most data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised by you directly through the app. For anything we process indirectly, write to abhishekgawde@proton.me.

I found a bug

Email abhishekgawde@proton.me with: what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, your iOS version, and your Prov version (Settings → About → Version). Screenshots help. We will reply.

I have a feature request

Same email. We read everything. We do not promise to build everything, but we read everything.

What we cannot help with

A few things are outside our control. We mention them here so you know where to go instead:

  • Apple ID, App Store, payment, refunds — go to support.apple.com or reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • iOS bugs unrelated to Prov — go to Apple support.
  • Google Gemini quality / behavior — Prov sends your text to Google's API and shows you what comes back. The wording, tone, and accuracy are produced by Google's model. If you consistently get bad output, tell us and we will look at the prompt — but we cannot change Google's model itself.

Response time

We try to respond within 48 hours on weekdays. On weekends and holidays it may take longer. If you do not hear back within five days, write again — sometimes mail filters get in the way.
